Pioneering
Sustainability
Since 1972

Since 1972, Timbertank Enterprises Ltd has been pioneering sustainable water storage solutions. What began as an innovative solution for a beach house project has evolved into New Zealand's leading provider of timber tanks and reservoirs.

Founded by architect Morton Jordan, our family-owned company has maintained its commitment to innovation and sustainability. Now led by his sons Justin and Giles, we continue to deliver cutting-edge storage and treatment solutions with capacities ranging from residential to 3 million litre community supplies.

With extensive research and development, we've expanded from pure water storage to sophisticated treatment systems, partnering with leading engineering consultants to meet diverse requirements.

Need a straight answer?

These are the questions we are most often asked about service life, timber durability, site flexibility, seismic resilience, and potable-water performance.

80-100 year barrel life Dynamic Earthquake design Moveable Expandable Adaptable Relocatable

A Timbertank combines a natural finish with one of the lowest whole-of-life environmental footprints available. Plantation-grown Pinus radiata is a renewable resource that stores carbon, while steel, concrete, and plastic generally carry higher embodied energy and emissions.

Potable water note

Timbertanks are primarily designed for potable water storage. When specified for that duty, the water is safe to drink and protected by a double-liner system using potable-grade liner materials.

Built for extremes

Built in New Zealand
Installed worldwide

Timbertanks are exported globally for sites operating in very different climatic conditions. From the Pacific Islands to Alaska, installations have stood up to earthquakes, cyclones, corrosive salt air, snowstorms, termites, and even fire.

Our New Zealand team manages export packaging, shipping, and documentation, while carefully selected international agents and distributors support local representation, facilitation, and successful installation on site.

Shipping

Small-volume orders are packed for LCL shipment in compact rectangular bundles, keeping freight efficient where volume drives cost. Larger reservoirs ship in 20-foot and 40-foot containers.

Installation

Every on-site installation is rigorously supervised by Timbertank personnel. Fast construction helps keep the build controlled and minimizes the risk of cost over-runs.
